From a pencil sketch to my website logo & name How I managed this Beautiful illustration.
Before I describe the logo, let me define Cosmos a bit –
They are pretty flowers. They come from the sunflower plant family and are cousins of Daisies & marigolds. They blossom in many different shades & colors in numbers of their kind. Mexicans called them Cosmos. the name of this flower came after the Greek word kosmos meaning (“The orderly Universe” (opposite of chaos), In other words, The Universe is also known as the Cosmos.
It is said that a priest in Mexico named the flowering plant Cosmos because of their aligned petals. The priest must’ve thought these flowers should be called Cosmos because of their orderly petals. These flowers also express harmony, grace & simplicity. When I read & researched about Cosmos I found all this information.
I have been very fond of Cosmos flowers since the beginning of my childhood. I remember we had a roof flower garden and every winter it used to blossom in colors. Different kinds of flowers were there, including white Cosmos. They only remind me of genuine love & purity.
Many years later I truly recognized the love of nature & the value of living close to Mother Nature, and how much it costs if we lose that connection. It was a time when I faced serious skin issues and none seemed to help, from various prescribed medicines to high-end skin care products. Everything failed until I turned to only nature-based products. I think I will share those in detail in some other article, but now going back to the current subject again which is how the logo was designed.
The name I collected from my childhood memories when Reza & I were thinking of creating a skincare line based on only natural ingredients because at that time I fully understood the benefits of nature-based products. We then experimented with a few homemade draft products & the products had great positive responses when we shared them with friends & family, I thought of sharing its benefits in the marketplace, but for some reason, we couldn’t make it a professional business in Bangladesh, because Reza is already fully involved in his work and I couldn’t think of doing it alone. We paused the thoughts of natural skin-care production & decided to launch a website for now, where I can share things that learned.
The name Cosmos was in my mind. at that time I didn’t know its spiritual meaning, I was only thinking about the innocent flowers & was not really sure whether we should pick the name but when Reza told me, that apart from the flower name – Cosmos has another meaning & its “The Universe”, I still remember I said, this is the name we should pick. And that’s how our first website was created named WhiteCosmoslog.com
We decided to share & record all the Beautiful things of Cosmos!
Then when it came to creating the logo design I knocked on the door of a Beautiful girl named Sriti Peach.
She sketched this lady holding a Cosmos exactly how I imagined. She literally made my dream come true. Thanks to Peach.
After having the sketch we converted it digitally, we took the help of the Adobe mobile app & the text writing I designed from Google. I’ll try to up all the links & share.
I hope to share more about Cosmos & WhiteCosmos in the future. Until then I’m ending the article with so much gratefulness for having the platform where I can express WhiteCosmos & I appreciate all the visitors to this website. Thanks for reading!
